Variable Duration

Manager: Cody B. Barney, CFA

Investment Overview

Variable Duration Government/Corporate portfolios consist of U.S. Treasury securities, U.S. agency mortgage-backed securities (MBS), federal agency securities, and dollar denominated investment grade corporate bonds.

This strategy seeks to take advantage of changes in the yield curve by managing portfolio duration within a wide range of 1 to 5 years depending on the overall level of interest rates.   Generally, as interest rates rise duration will be extended, and as rates decrease duration will be shortened.   The strategy also seeks to take advantage of opportunities among bond market sectors and selective corporate credits.  This product seeks performance that exceeds the Merrill Lynch 1-3 Year Treasury Index by 100 basis points net of fees.

Inception: June 2010
