Investment Overview
Intermediate Duration Government/Agency portfolios consist exclusively of U.S. Treasury securities, U.S. agency mortgage-backed securities (MBS), and federal agency securities. Since portfolios hold only Aaa-rated U.S. government guaranteed bonds, there is no explicit credit risk. Interest rate risk and prepayment risk are actively managed through sector, coupon, and maturity allocation.
This strategy seeks to equal or exceed the total return of the Barclays Capital U.S. Aggregate Index, net of costs, with less volatility and less credit risk than the index. Portfolios typically maintain a duration range between that of the Barclays Capital U.S. MBS Index and the Barclays Capital U.S. Aggregate Indices.
